Give $100 in honor of WNYC’s Centennial [View this email in a browser]( [Red ] Dear Listener, Today is WNYC’s Centennial! 8:54 pm tonight marks the 100th anniversary of the moment WNYC began broadcasting in New York City. Here’s how we are celebrating: - Starting at 7 pm, Brian Lehrer will host an on-air birthday party for WNYC. Then, at 8:54 pm—the exact time that WNYC went on the air on July 8, 1924—we will transition into a re-imagining of WNYC’s first-ever radio broadcast live on the air. You can listen to the celebration live on 93.9FM, AM 820, or online at wnyc.org. You can also listen via the new WNYC app. - At sunset, the Empire State Building will be illuminated in WNYC’s signature red. - Beginning today through Wednesday, Brian Lehrer, Brooke Gladstone, and Michael Hill will be voicing announcements on the subway! Hosts will be heard on the L train, and on platforms across the City. You can join the Centennial Celebration today!
