I wanted to share the exciting results of our new Wish Impact Study with you. Plus, Bradley's message to you, 24 years after his wish. [Make-A-Wish]( ISSUE NO. 24
JUNE 13, 2022 [Wishfully Yours: What's Happening Now at Make-A-Wish]( From the desk of [Richard Davis]( One of the most amazing things about being involved with Make-A-Wish is hearing firsthand from families and kids about how a wish changed their lives. It’s among my favorite – and most important – parts of this job. Now, new research lends data to the incredible stories we've heard for decades. [The 2022 Wish Impact Study]( surveyed wish alumni, parents and doctors to understand how wishes impact kids’ physical, mental and emotional health. A large majority of wish families and medical providers shared that [a wish was a necessary part of the child’s medical treatment journey.]( Perhaps the most overwhelming feedback came from pediatric doctors. More than 90% of the doctors surveyed said they witnessed their patients overcoming sadness, hopelessness, anxiety and depression after their wish. And 75% of the doctors went as far as to say a wish could improve a child’s medical outcomes. In Dr. Shoba Srikantan’s words – [“After a wish, many of my patients exhibit a renewed sense of hope and greater compliance with their treatment, which is why I – and many of my peers – consider a wish to be an important part of a child’s treatment plan.”](

Make-A-Wish National Medical Advisory Council Wishes are truly life-changing, and this new study – along with the stories wish families have shared for more than 40 years – inspires us to do everything we can, every day, to grant the next child’s wish. We hope it inspires you too. Wishfully Yours, Richard [Image Alt] [A wish begins with hope. Hope begins with you.]( [Your support gives children with critical illnesses the strength they need. Thousands of kids are waiting for hope, and you have the power to create it.]( [Grant More Wishes]( [In 1998, Bradley was in the midst of fighting leukemia. Now, he looks back on his wish as the moment things changed.]( [Bradley's wish was granted in 1998]( There is one thing Bradley can remember clearly from that difficult time more than 20 years ago: When supporters like you granted his wish to have a saxophone, it marked a turning point in his health care journey. Bradley’s message to you:
