If you’re still in search of fodder for your own bourbon-sussed convo with the cousins and uncles around the table, may we suggest this opening statement ... ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ November 22, 2023 |  [View Online]( |  [Sign Up]( Ours To Fight For… The Freedom From Want “Peace is always beautiful.” — Walt Whitman Dear , Ah, Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. The storm blowing its way across the country landed in Baltimore last night with bouts of heavy, cold rain and gusts of wind. The middle-aged Japanese maple we have just off the front porch shed a blanket of deep red leaves across the walk and lawn. And while it’s not quite time yet, the fireplace in my office is dropping hints… last year’s embers are falling in anticipation of a good wine and crackle this season.   CONTINUED BELOW... POWERED BY DAILY MARKET ALERTS Top 5 AI Stocks to Buy for 2023 The artificial intelligence (AI) revolution is already here. And it's about to change everything we know about everything. According to Grand View Research, the global AI boom could grow from about $137 billion in 2022 to more than $1.81 trillion by 2030. And investors like you always want to get in on the hottest stocks of tomorrow. Here are five of the best ways to profit from the AI boom. [Click Here to Download the FREE Report.]( CONTINUED... The kids are home, or all will be, by tomorrow. Everyone’s happy, healthy and doing their own thing this year; reasonably well-educated and debt free. What’s not to like? We have a lot to be thankful for. Provided nothing crazy happens in the markets today, stocks are slated to meander into the sluggish tryptophan weekend with confidence: the Dow is up on the year 7%; the S&P 500 nearly 20% and the Nasdaq well-equipped to weather the storm at OpenAI. The tech-heavy index will likely begin December up 40% in 2023. Nvidia, the AI chip maker, beat earnings expectations again this year. Tech is fun to watch. Even in the 3rd quarter Nvidia’s revenues grew 206% year-over-year. Still, it’s a good idea to be leery of Nvidia at these prices if you haven’t already bought in. The stock has been trending lower over the last 5 days… Retailers remain a concern even as the holidays approach. As a proxy American Eagle dropped 16% yesterday. Our forecast for 2024 remains: retailers are going to have a rough one next year. Here’s a cheery holiday nugget for you: Kim Kardashian has teamed up with private equity guru Jay Sammons to invest in Truff, a high-end condiment maker. She’ll do fine with the investment, we expect, as we’re confident truffle-mayo, -hot and -pasta sauce are also on your list of Thanksgiving staples. Thanksgiving, for some, evokes Norman Rockwell images like this one: (Source: color poster, UNT Digital Library) For us, we remember The Desiderata, a prose poem written by Max Ehrman, copyrighted in 1927. There used to be an old, framed copy of it hanging on the pine door inside the downstairs bathroom at the family farm in New Hampshire. Our copy was special. Or so we thought. It was a replica from a devotional the reverend Frederick Kates distributed to his congregation at Old Saint Paul's Church, Baltimore in 1959. The document mentioned the church's foundation date of 1692, which has caused many to falsely assume the date is also the poem's original, too. I grew up thinking when I visited my then-grandmother’s bathroom up in the woods in New Hampshire, I was also getting some well-worded wisdom whispered through the ages. For Thanksgiving 2023, we thought we’d share Mr. Ehreman’s text. It’s copyrighted. Don’t rat me out. The Disiderata (Trans. from Latin: “things desired or essential.”) Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for there will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. by Max Ehrmann ©1927 Happy Thanksgiving and follow your own bliss, Addison Wiggin, The Wiggin Sessions P.S. If you’re still in search of fodder for your own bourbon-sussed convo with the cousins and uncles around the table, may we suggest this opening statement: “The narrative of Elon Musk being anti-semetic and X being a platform for hate is largely a fiction perpetrated by Media Matters and the Anti-Defamation League. The goal? To control political discourse leading into the election year 2024 regarding Trump, the Southern border, Ukraine, Israel and climate change.” Heh. That ought to get ‘em going. Here are a couple good sources you can use to bone up on the subject: [Michael Shellenberger]( and [Matt Taibbi]( These two ruffians are neck deep in the effort to keep free speech alive on the Internet… agree or disagree?
