[View in browser]( [Important Notice] Update on the recent server outage Hi , I hope this email finds you well. I would like to use this medium to give you some details about the recent outage that affected our servers. We currently house the servers we use for shared hosting in a data center in the United States. We were informed recently that they would be performing power maintenance at their facility, but we were assured that this would not impact our services because all our servers have more than one source of power. Unfortunately, on Saturday, May 20th, by around 7 p.m GMT+1, we were surprised to find that all our servers had shut down suddenly. We got an update from our data center that the maintenance did not go smoothly as planned, leading to the outage we experienced. We immediately started to work on bringing our servers back up. While most of our servers were restored without issues, we discovered that a few servers did not come up due to data corruption on their drives. Shutting down an active server suddenly can lead to data corruption, which we experienced on these servers. This required us to perform file system checks on the affected machines, which took a lot longer than we would have liked and led to several hours of downtime for some of our customers. This also led to an increase in the number of requests from affected customers, leading to a delay in our ability to respond swiftly to all requests. This outage was a rare occurrence, and we could not have prepared for it. We have several systems in place to ensure that your services remain online at all times, and I am sorry that none of them could have prevented this painful downtime. We assure you that we have been working round the clock to get all our servers up and running, and we have had varied levels of success, depending on the level of corruption on each server. We will be discussing this incident further with our data center to ensure that it never occurs again. At this time, all our servers are up and running, and we are monitoring them to be sure that there are no issues. If you are still having any issues with your site, please let us know so that we can work on it as quickly as possible. I would like to appreciate your patience while we worked on getting all servers restored fully. Rest assured of our commitment to giving you the best experience on our servers. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to write back to us. We will respond to you as quickly as we can. Thank you for your continued business and trust. We appreciate you.
