Stand up to GOP voter suppression

He trailed Hillary Clinton by double digits in many polls only weeks before the election and, according to Gallup, was the most unpopular major party candidate in presidential election history. Yet, Trump was elected president -- because 100 million Americans stayed home on Election Day. Because of low turnout, Trump took the White House and Mitch McConnell held on to the Senate. And it could happen again in 2020. As Rolling Stone reported last month, Donald Trump and the GOP will do anything in their power to suppress Democratic votes this year and hold on to the White House. For the sake of our democracy, we need to fight back -- RIGHT NOW. Our mission is to turn out every single eligible Democratic voter in the country. And if we do, Trump will be handed the most embarrassing defeat of his lifetime, Mitch McConnell will lose control of the Senate, and Democrats will expand our House majority. If Democrats control Washington, we can begin to undo the damage wrought by the Trump administration and Mitch McConnell’s Senate. Democrats will take bold action on climate change by expanding green jobs and putting Americans back to work in a new green economy. And we’ll expand and protect access to Medicare and Social Security for our seniors and future generations. But these changes can only happen if we win in November. The GOP will stop at nothing to suppress Democratic voters -- even sabotage vital public services such as the U.S. Postal Service. Donald Trump knows that the only way for him to win is to stop Democrats from voting in November, and he’s willing to destroy democracy to make that possible.
