Funding shortfalls are making an already dire situation worse for families like Rabio's. Hello {NAME

Funding shortfalls are making an already dire situation worse for families like Rabio's. [View in browser]( [World Food Program USA.]( [DONATE]( Hello {NAME}, Each day, Rabio wakes up in her single room home in Farah, Afghanistan. As a mother of 11, she bears the enormous task of ensuring everyone has the food they need every day. Rabio's husband lives with a disability, and his job as a daily laborer doesn't bring in enough income to meet the household's needs. Rabio, determined to feed her children, often relies on charity from others to secure her family's meals. Money is so tight that they can't afford to enroll the children in school. Today, on International Women's Day, you can deliver meals to women like Rabio and ensure families don't have to go to bed hungry. [SEND LIFESAVING MEALS]( [A family in Afghanistan sitting in their home.]( Rabio, 37, sits surrounded by her children in their single-room house in Hemat Abad village, Farah, Afghanistan. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is facing a massive funding shortfall. That means in places like Afghanistan, the U.N. World Food Programme can only help the hardest hit families with food rations. These meals are often the last lifeline for women like Rabio who can barely make ends meet. The hunger crisis Rabio and her family are experiencing is compounded by a changing climate. Drought is prevalent across Afghanistan. The shortage of water is robbing families of their crops and livelihoods. Countless communities across Afghanistan also struggle to recover from decades of complex conflict. Conflict is the number one driver of hunger on the planet — and it hits women hardest. Many women become the heads of their households when men die at war, but they have very little to give their children due to minimal economic opportunities. [$1 = 2 MEALS]( Through targeted interventions, the U.N. World Food Programme empowers women by providing them with essential resources and connecting them to economic opportunities, which helps to break the cycle of hunger and poverty. However, the U.N. World Food Programme is currently grappling with a significant funding shortfall. Under these extreme circumstances, the U.N. World Food Programme has been forced to cut thousands of families from receiving assistance. Join our community of givers who are providing lifesaving meals to families like Rabio's. [This International Women's Day, please take a moment today to send a gift that will provide critically needed meals to women and their families.]( With gratitude, Robin Benatti Director of Philanthropy World Food Program USA Our Future Begins With Food.
