[View in browser]( [World Food Program USA.]( {NAME}, thank you. I write with a grateful heart because our generous World Food Program USA community made a lifesaving difference in 2023 for people who were unsure where their next meal would come from. I have seen your impact firsthand and repeatedly heard from people the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) serves how important it is to their families' livelihoods that they receive food assistance. Because of our supporters, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) helped families facing starvation in Somalia delivered emergency food in Gaza and provided long-lasting solutions by empowering schools to grow their food for school meals in Zambia last year. Isn't that incredible? It's so important our community comes together in times of great need. As we prepare for the year ahead, I will be honest with you: Our world and the U.N. World Food Programme are in crisis mode. I lose sleep at night thinking about climate disasters and current conflicts, knowing rations must be cut due to funding shortfalls. It is devastating and frustrating, but I continue to have hope. People – including children, caregivers and the elderly – facing severe hunger across the globe rely on us each day to not lose sight of our mission to end hunger. With enough philanthropists like you standing with us, the U.N. World Food Programme can continue its work and deliver nourishing meals to the world's hungriest people 365 days a year. [Barron with the WFP Honduras team.]( On my visit to Honduras last month, I met with WFP Deputy Country Director of Honduras Paulo Oliveira and the rest of the team at a WFP warehouse. In 2024, the U.N. World Food Programme will continue to work to prevent famine and extreme hunger in countries around the world. Food is the first line of defense for individuals' well-being. Without food, children's growth could be stunted, students can't focus on their studies and diseases are harder to fight off. A gift to World Food Program USA does more than provide a meal. Together, we can improve nutrition and food security to end global hunger. With gratitude, [Barron's signature] Barron Segar President and CEO World Food Program USA P.S.
