[The Western Journal]( Reading Time 2 mins: Your chance to preserve freedom in America [Alliance Defending Freedom]( [No Hate Sign]( Reading Time 2 mins: Your chance to preserve freedom in America Dear Friend, Some days it’s hard to believe the state of our nation. Americans are turning against each other. Some government officials are abusing their power and overstepping their authority. People of faith are being targeted. You probably never imagined waking up one day to find the doors of your church closed. Or the government threatening pastors with criminal penalties for holding a church service. You probably never imagined that your children and grandchildren would be taught that biology is subjective—that truth doesn’t exist. You probably never imagined that Christians in America would be told that living out our beliefs should be illegal. Truth, freedom, and equality have been replaced by a dangerous Cancel Culture movement, government overreach, and social unrest. But there is hope. With the help of faithful Americans like you, we can stand for freedom in the court of law and in the court of public opinion. And we can be victorious. [Your support is needed to help ensure that freedom always has a strong legal defense. Will you stand for freedom and help protect our most cherished liberties with a contribution of $25, $50, $100, or more?]( [DONATE]( What God can do when we stand together Do you remember when Colorado cake artist and ADF client Jack Phillips was at the U.S. Supreme Court? For years, Jack has endured targeted attacks against him and his business, Masterpiece Cakeshop. It all started when the Colorado Civil Rights Commission pursued legal action against him after he respectfully declined a request to create a custom-designed cake celebrating a same-sex wedding. Despite receiving death threats against his family and losing a significant part of his business, Jack bravely stood for religious freedom—all the way to the Supreme Court. Still, it seemed the odds were against him. Many people believed Jack wouldn’t win his case. But he did win. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Jack. The high court found that the state had acted with “clear and impermissible hostility” toward Jack’s religious beliefs, violating the First Amendment. Friend, with God’s blessing and the prayers and support of people like you, Jack was victorious. And his Supreme Court victory stands as a reminder of what can happen when people of faith unite. We cannot back down when our most cherished liberties are threatened. We must stand for freedom—all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary. And ADF is committed to defending courageous individuals like Jack, churches, and other ministries that are willing to take that stand. [That’s why your tax-deductible gift today is so critical.]( What your gift can help accomplish Friend, we need more people like you to stand up and use their voices, their efforts, and every resource they can to defend freedom in America. Right now, your much-needed gift of $25 or more will be put to work to help: - Protect your most cherished freedoms in courtrooms across the country by funding active legal cases. - Partner with thousands of churches, religious schools, Christian business, and other ministries that need legal preparation for the critical times ahead. - Reach up to one million Americans and urge them to complete the national survey to speak out on the threats to freedom in their communities. Together we can take on Cancel Culture. We can stand up to activists who threaten your freedoms in the court of law and in the court of public opinion. And we can win. ADF has become one of the most successful U.S. Supreme Court advocates, having won 11 cases at the high court since 2011. And we’re winning nearly 80 percent of all cases. But this work is only possible through God’s provision (John 15:5) and the prayers and generosity of people like you. So please don’t wait. If you feel strongly that America must remain a nation that upholds life and liberty, make your gift of $25, $50, $100, or more today. Thank you for your generosity.
