Sign the Petition In 2016, wanting to help their teenage daughter who was suffering from anxi= ety and depression, an Ohio mother and father took her to a psychiatric hos= pital, where she was =E2=80=9Cdiagnosed=E2=80=9D with gender dysphoria, a c= ondition where a child feels uncomfortable with their physical sex. At that time, this young woman wanted to begin hormone therapy, but her par= ents encouraged their daughter to seek an alternative solution. Studies suggest that in some transgender patients there is a higher rate of= blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks, not to mention the obvious feelin= gs and implications any parent would have when a child suffering from depre= ssion claimed they wanted to change genders. Ultimately, this mother and father refused to pay for their daughter=E2=80= =99s =E2=80=9Cgender transition=E2=80=9D to become a man. In the eyes of the state =E2=80=94 and big government =E2=80=94 this made t= he parents =E2=80=9Cunfit=E2=80=9D to care for their daughter because they = didn=E2=80=99t support giving her dangerous hormone treatments and agree to= let her change her gender. So the government took away custody of their daughter and charged them with= abuse and neglect. They were labeled as =E2=80=9Cbigots=E2=80=9D and =E2= =80=9Chateful=E2=80=9D by the press and on social media. Together, we must stand with these families and DEMAND that their state res= pect their parental rights and their liberties.
