My name is Andrea Salinas, and I'm running for Congress. Defend the Vote is proudly dedicated to protecting voting rights for every American. [In a moment, I’m going to ask you to split a contribution between my campaign and Defend the Vote. But if you don’t have time to read this email right now, can you please chip in before you click away?]( [$5 ➞]( [$25 ➞]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT ➞]( My dad immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico in 1950. He believed in the power of hard work to make a difference. He worked in the fields, served two tours in Vietnam, and took a union job to provide a path into the middle class for our family. While we didn’t have a lot growing up, my family believed that through hard work, you can achieve anything. It took me seven years to graduate college – and I juggled multiple jobs, from painting houses to pouring coffee – but I put in the hard work and earned that degree. My daughter was born 17 years ago, and my family’s hard work gave me the determination that I needed to leave the world a better place for her. That’s why I stepped up to join the Oregon state legislature. As a legislator, I’ve fought for more affordable health care, helped Oregon begin to tackle our climate crisis, and passed the nation’s most progressive paid family leave bill. It takes hard work to get these things done, but I was determined. With that same level of determination, I’m running for Congress. I’m ready to fight for families just like mine in Congress, but I need your help. [That’s why I’m asking: Will you please chip in $10 or whatever you can split between my campaign and Defend the Vote? I’m counting on grassroots support from folks like you.]( [DONATE $5 NOW ➞]( [DONATE $25 NOW ➞]( [DONATE ANOTHER AMOUNT ➞]( When everyone chips in, even just a little, it all adds up. I can tell you from firsthand experience that when folks give what they can, it has a huge impact on our campaign. I’m asking you to step up and join us today.
