To your success, Chaz and the Entire Team This Week in the Lab with SEO Mad Scientist  External vs Internal Links + New Indexation Test! Welcome back to another SEO testing update with the SEO mad scientist. If you've been following are ongoing test then you know that in our recent tests we are currently in the process of building out 10 to 20 internal pages on a couple websites to test our inner linking strategy to relevant content, vs our test from the past 2 weeks of linking out to external relevant content. Since creating the inner pages ended up taking a bit longer than expected, we are holding off a week on any updates from the internal link test variations. So, we decided to run some of our yearly indexation tests to see what is still indexing, no indexing, or maybe indexing when it didn’t before. If you have seen our previous indexation tests, then you know some of the things we have found that doesn’t index in Googles public index are: - Schema - Image Names - Link and Image IDs - HTML Code and CSS naming And some of the things we have found index are: - Any Length Images ALT Tags - Text the Same Color as the Background - Text Hidden with CSS - Text Hidden in Dropdowns - Social Meta Data In these tests, we make up a term that doesn’t pull any search results, and then place that term on the page in one of these spots, and see if the page shows in organic search for that term after being crawled. Just because the page doesn’t show, doesn’t mean that these things are not relevant to organic SEO, however, it does give us insight into what can directly impact our rankings vs what could have an indirect impact, or no impact at all. So follow along with us over the next week to discover what is currently indexing or not anymore! Our page is live and waiting to be crawled, Once its crawled the results usually show immediately. Below are the terms for you to check for yourself over the next few days and discover the results with us. Next week we will be back with a full report of our 2022 indexation test, and more updates on our ongoing external vs internal link tests. Until then, Happy Testing! Test terms for you to track along with us: - Schema: poluyyxctrvf - Image Names: kwsisyyuwjm - Link and Image IDs: polslwwkxm - HTML Code and CSS naming: oaiwjjdcnu - Any Length Images ALT Tags: ijkkiswjikii - Text the Same Color as the Background: ikswttgvaqvw - Text Hidden with CSS: kofrijnksdf - Text Hidden in Dropdowns: jdfijhsune - Social Meta Data: kdfourhhk This Week on The SEO Vault Episode 144 Hosts: Mike Milas + Sophie Allen What we discussed this week... ✔️Google Title Link Algorithm Update For Multi-Language Or Transliterated Titles ✔️Google Expands Browse By Search Features: Material, Product Line & More ✔️ Google: You Can Restrict XML Sitemaps Access To Search Engines ✔️ Google May 2022 Core Update Done Rolling Out On Day 15 Answered: Do you think it’s a bad idea to change your website URL to the co-cache version on GBP? > [Watch the Latest SEO Vault episode]( to catch up on the most recent local update and so much more.
