Have you watched them? [Start Watching Now]( SEO Mad Scientist 🧪🥼🔬  Hey there mad, welcome back to another exciting week of SEO testing updates! If you've been following along and watching The Vault then you know today we are going to go over some recent tests on GBPs signals that are now moving the needle that did not in previous tests. In fact, we came across it because we noticed that one of our previous test GBPs that we had added some services to see if it showed any rankings as a single variable, all of the sudden started showing for some services terms we had added to our listing "Simple Merchandising Co. "Flyer printing McSherrystown PA" These terms didn't show anywhere previously and we didn't put them anywhere else on the listing aside from the word "Print" in printshop when our keyword contained the word "printing". (This will be important later) Since we had a category that contained part of our search term we wanted to make sure that the ranking improvements were actually from the service listings and not just by some algorithm that Google had that was determining those terms on its own completely separate. Essentially, "if we add more services will we see noticeable movement shortly after?" So we added a few more services to our listing. Here is "Poster printing McSherrystown PA" (Previously didn’t show at all until adding Posters as a service.) The interesting thing was that we had added a service for "custom t-shirt printing", but that keyword did not move at all. We thought this may have been because the others were actually recommended services by Googlea, but we also noticed when searching for that term, the category was not under "print shop" but instead "t-shirt company" and a few other different categories. So we decided to repeat our test but add the category for t-shirt company, and put our service underneath that, still using a "custom" service not recommended by Google. We decided to add the service "custom business shirt" Almost immediately after we saw some movement into the top 20 for related terms that were not showing before. So it appeared that the service was adding relevance but only as it pertained to the primary category. This would mean that category research is going to become much more important as we move forward in the new algorithm. Of course we are going to continue testing as we add some descriptions and other things to the listing to see how it moves so be sure to join us next week for more SEO test updates.
