How the retailer could take over⦠How the retailer could take overâ¦
[Wealth Daily] Alexander Boulden / Apr 22, 2024 Walmart and Ibotta Team Up Dear Reader, I rarely watch TV these days. Sometimes when Iâm at a friendâs place or with family, theyâll still be consuming media the old-fashioned (outdated) way. One main reason I donât watch TV is the cost. I refuse to pay for things that I donât absolutely need, especially when they throw commercials at you. If youâre paying for something, it shouldnât come with advertisements. People forget that you vote with your dollar and time. Commercials are generally terrible today, too. Itâs painfully obvious that these companies are pushing some strange agenda that doesnât make any sense. So itâs rare that a commercial catches my eye and makes me interested in what a company is actually doing. But thatâs exactly what happened with a recent Walmart ad. The whole time I was watching it, I thought it was an ad for Amazon. But when the commercial ended and it was revealed that it was Walmart the whole time, it made me think⦠Is Walmart the New Amazon? Walmart is making some big changes to its stores and business model that could position it to seriously compete with a company like Amazon. If you think about it, Amazonâs main competitive advantage over Walmart is its e-commerce monopoly. But if Walmartâs able to take even a little slice out of the pie, it could begin to slowly encroach on Amazonâs moat. We all know Walmart from its physical stores⦠New Oil Drilling Innovation Unlocks Texas-Size Profit
Potential Nestled in Texas' Permian Basin is a secret thatâs about to turn the oil industry on its head... A small firm has developed a new drilling method that puts fracking to shame. It could DOUBLE domestic oil production and transform America into the worldâs No. 1 oil superpower. [See the full story behind this firmâs breakthrough "Horseshoe Well."]( According to Forbes, "Walmartâs crowning glory is its network of Super Centers. Ninety percent of Americans live within 10 miles of a Walmart store. These stores are profitable, and there are over 10,000 stores and clubs in 20 countries." Itâs hard, if not impossible, for Amazon to compete with that. On the other hand, as the article states, âit took many years for Walmart to embrace the e-commerce opportunity and provide the resources and leadership it needed to develop a compelling online offering. The reluctance to face the innovatorâs dilemma has ultimately set Walmart back with its online business.â But now Walmart is expanding and innovating, embracing AI, virtual reality, and even drone deliveries. Here are just some of the ways Walmart is expanding its reach and revenue stream⦠- In-store ads: E-commerce is moving torward putting more effort into in-store ads. The logic here is that customers are more likely to buy a product after they see an ad when itâs right next to them. The effort is very low. Also, it allows them to reach a massive audience every day.
- In-game sales: Walmart and video game company Unity have created a partnership that allows users to buy the actual product from Walmart while playing a video game. You can buy apparel and house goods.
- Buy now, pay later: The companyâs using buy now pay later company Affirm in many of its U.S. stores to let users self-checkout.
- Drone delivery: Walmart is adding drone delivery services to its portfolio (although itâs only in Texas right now) to deliver products to customers in less than 30 minutes.
- Focus on health: Walmartâs stores offer pharmacies and health products that add to its moat. Nvidia Could Crash Soon Nvidiaâs days are numbered... Because thereâs a [new player in the AI market...]( A Californian company that developed a groundbreaking chip â one that outperforms Nvidiaâs chips 100x. The U.S. Air Force is just one elite client that was allowed to use it early. But soon this chip will be available to the mainstream. And if you position yourself before it reaches the mass market, you could turn every $1 into $120... Just like early Nvidia investors did. Keith Kohl just published an urgent presentation on this unique opportunity. [Get the full story here while thereâs still time.]( So with all these investments the company has been making in itself, its employees, and in the U.S. economy, should you add it to your portfolio?
Is Walmart a âBuyâ? As an investor, I see a lot of positives in the company right now, especially when comparing it to Amazon. First, Walmart pays a 1.39% dividend, while Amazon doesnât pay a dime. Second, Walmart is utilizing AI to help its stores run more efficiently, so you could look at it as a backdoor AI play. Third, the company owns a substantial number of shares of Ibotta, a company that IPOâd just this week on the NYSE. Ibotta is a digital marketing company that gives users cash back whenever they purchase products in a participating retailerâs store or through a retailerâs app. To be frank, Iâd never heard of it before, but now Iâm intrigued. According to Fast Company, âThese promotions allow customers to collect cash back every time they shop in a brandâs store or app. The customers can then have their cash back deposited in their bank account or delivered via a gift card. Ibotta [says]( its shoppers have so far earned over $1.8 billion since 2012. And yes, âIbottaâ is a pun (âI bought aâ¦â).â Companies like Home Depot, Walmart, and Best Buy already work with Ibotta. This is one company to keep an eye on as well. As for Walmart? Itâs going in my âBuyâ list. Stay frosty, Alexander Boulden
