University Mathematicians Confirm: The Purple Predictor Crushes the Market Hello Trader, Three University of California mathematicians showed that Joe Granville could predict the Dow Jones Average! One of them, Ed Thorpe, is a friend of mine. They published their results in the Spring 1982 issue of the Journal of Portfolio Management.
