Use a Ukrainian mind flip to make money in oil

[image] Dear Trader The price of oil is skyrocketing. Which means it is probably getting close to time to sell! I have made a lot of money on the long side of oil. So have my clients. I put out a special report on why oil would rally to my list and created a video explanation on YouTube last year. So I got long because of the underlying fundamentals not because of the Ukraine situation. Ukraine just turbo charged my profits. What about now? Here is exactly what I’m thinking and acting. First, I just took profits on my oil positions a day ago. This is developing into a speculative blow off which is a type of market where you throw out the rules you trade by and have to trade differently. The price of oil is basically vertical. Vertical markets are unsustainable to you have to look to exit the market. But, I’ve also see the price of instruments double in one day in a situation like this. So you need to hang on as long as you possibly can because you can often double your money in just a few days. Of course, this is not easy to do! Often the market will come down hard for one day and you will get shaken out and then double the next day! And you missed the big profits! What I do is throw out my usual trading strategies. They are for normal markets, not speculative blowoffs or capitulation bottoms. I now shift to being basically a day trader and I rely on my strategy called Every Bar Tells A Story or EBTAS. Here I analyze every aspect of every bar in a microscopic manner to give me clues when to get out of the market and take profits. Let’s say I get a sell signal. Great. I get to liquidate my position for large profits. Like this week! But, to me, the trade is not finished! It could be a fake-out and the price explodes to the upside. So after getting out of the initial trade, I put buy stops into the market to get me right back in. But I assume this next trade will be a short lived trade so I go through the EBTAS routine again. Wash, rinse, repeat. After that, I have to start thinking about how to make massive money on the downside. Speculative blowoffs are always followed by big bear markets. Let’s go make some more money!
