Also: Biden signs $1 trillion infrastructure deal; seven-day positive test rate trending up in Mass. [Donate ❤️]( [View in Browser]( Â November 15, 2021Â 🌞 Sunny, with a high near 48. Good Morning Boston, Michelle Wu will be sworn in as mayor of Boston later today. It's a big day in the city's history. Wu is just 36, the first woman, the first Asian-American and the first person of color elected to lead Boston. Tune back in throughout the day â on air or online â for more coverage of the inauguration. Here's what else is on our radar: - GE [announced]( last week that it will split into three public companies, spinning off its health care and energy divisions, and keeping aviation under its name. Some union workers at GEâs jet engine plant in Lynn are uneasy about the change and [want GE to make more investments]( in the facility. - By the numbers: The seven-day positive test rate for COVID cases across Massachusetts has been trending up since late last month. It's now a little higher than 2.3%. The good news is hospitalizations remain very low among fully vaccinated residents.
- Your weekly reminder: Health experts say the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 is to get fully vaccinated. For those in Massachusetts who want to get the first shot, visit [vaxfinder.mass.gov]( call 211, or talk to your doctor to schedule an appointment.
- If you want a booster, read this [helpful explainer](. - Harvard grad students will not go on strike today. They say they've reached a tentative agreement with the university, the details of which have not been disclosed. The next step is getting the agreement ratified by union members. That begins Thursday. - In other Harvard news: Researchers say they've found a personthat has been cured of HIV without the help of drugs. This is only the second person to be reported with an immune system that did not replicate the virus in her body. This has some big implications. Researchers think this could help identify possible future treatments and even maybe a cure for HIV. P.S.â In the mood to read a celebrity memoir? This fall is [filled with them]( from Drew Barrymore and Will Smith to Kal Penn and Stanley Tucci. I'm personally super excited to read the latter. Meagan McGinnes
