Especially when you [take a look at what the West has been dealing with.]( Outside of the weather, here's what else you should know this morning: -School resource officers will no longer walk the halls of Brookline schools. The select board voted 3-to-2 to remove officers from campuses. The board also voted to end a program which assigned officers to public housing properties. -UMass Lowell students are resuming classes today after a widespread IT outage due to a possible cyberattack. The outage began last Tuesday and [the university says]( some business services may still be limited as the network is brought back online. -On Beacon Hill today, the committee on mental health, substance use and recovery will hold a hearing to consider over a dozen bills related to mental health care. One of the proposed bills would require insurance providers to cover at least 30 days of in-patient, substance abuse treatment. Another would create a special commission on racism and mental health. -Attention Comcast customers: You will be receiving a $17.07 credit due to canceled broadcasts of major league sports during the pandemic, a result of the cable and internet provider's negotiations with regional sports networks, including NBC Sports Boston and NESN. This is the third credit Comcast has issued since October. -There's a new dedicated bus lane from Main Street in Medford to Wheatland Street in Somerville.
