Also: All aboard the "Vax Express"; Coolidge Corner announces $12.5M expansion ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  [Donate [WBUR]]( [View in Browser](  [WBUR]( June 17, 2021 Good Morning Boston, 🌞 Sunny, with a high near 79. Hope you're doing as well this morning as the [Esplanade's "papa swan."]( Here's what you should know: - You can now begin boarding [the "Vax Express."]( special commuter rail train will be a tool to increase vaccine access in communities with lower vaccination rates. So far, just over 4 million people in Massachusetts are fully vaccinated, but fewer than half of all Black and Latino residents have received at least one dose. The train's first stops will be in Mattapan, at Blue Hill Avenue Station and then South Station, and adult riders will be able to get the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, with Pfizer being administered to teenagers. You can walk in or [book an appointment in advance](. For those a little outside of Boston proper, don't worry. The train will stop in Worcester, Lowell, Lawrence and Fitchburg later this week. - A few hours after yesterday's newsletter sent, Gov. Charlie Baker [signed into law]( a bill extending policies that originated during the pandemic for remote public meetings, to-go cocktail sales, eviction protections and more. While these extensions aren't permanent, there's still a big sigh of relief for many residents and business owners. - The Somerville Board of Health will also consider later today a proposal to extend the city's residential eviction moratorium, which is set to expire this week. The extension would push it to Sept. 15. - Cambridge-based Moderna got another big vaccine order from the feds: 200 million more doses. That brings its total order to 500 million doses. The government has signed an option to buy other COVID vaccines Moderna is developing, too. That's one way to support local business. - Winner winner chicken dinner: Looks like [gaming revenues are bouncing back](. Massachusetts' slots parlor and two casinos generated more tax revenue in May than in any month since casino gambling was legalized nearly a decade ago. And that's even with COVID restrictions in place for most of the month. - A reminder: Put down the phone when you're driving or it could cost you. So far, more than 13,000 tickets have been issued for violating the hands-free driving law since it was enacted in February 2020. First offense is $100, and by the third ticket you'll be paying $500. P.S.– A local company is getting international attention for the latest public figure to wear its sunglasses: Russian President Vladimir Putin. During Biden and Putin's summit, Biden gave Putin a pair of custom Aviator glasses from Randolph USA. You know, that way they could both look awesome while talking international affairs.
