Also: BPL reopening updates; it's officially tick season in Massachusetts ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  [Donate [WBUR]]( [View in Browser](  [WBUR]( June 1, 2021 Good Morning Boston, ⛅ Partly sunny, with a high near 75. It's a big day for WBUR. For the first time in 14 months, Morning Edition host [Bob Oakes is back in the studio]( Hope you got a chance to listen this morning, too. Here's the news you need to know today: - The state Supreme Court will hear arguments today about coronavirus testing in county jails. The ACLU thinks it's not happening among staff and prisoners, but the jail says their testing rates and procedures are adequate. - An update on Acting Boston Mayor Kim Janey vs. Boston Police Commissioner Dennis White: Tomorrow, Janey will hold a hearing with White as part of the process to dismiss him after decades-old allegations of domestic violence recently surfaced against him. So far, White's attempts in court to block Janey from firing him have failed. He is now claiming he was the victim of domestic abuse in his relationship with his ex-wife. - Good news for book lovers: Starting today the Copley Square branch of the Boston Public Library will be reopened to the public for limited in-person service (think browsing to select books, research appointments, courtyard usage and access to computers and printers). The rest of the branches fully reopen in two weeks. - Gov. Charlie Baker is trying again to create a medal to honor veterans who have lost their lives to service-related injuries, including PTSD. He first proposed the "Medal of Fidelity" last fall. - Heading to Logan? Starting today the shuttle bus service to the airport will increase its service. It's now running hourly from Woburn, and adding daily service from Braintree and Framingham. But sorry, still no service from Peabody and Back Bay for now. - PSA: Hunting and fishing license fees in Massachusetts [may be going up]( for the first time in 25 years. If passed, the change will be a phased approach over five years. The $3.5 million raised by the fee hikes will pay for services provided by Mass Wildlife. P.S.– While you're out there hunting, fishing or just going for a stroll, remember it's [tick season from now through December](.
