Also: Why some stores remained closed during yesterday's reopening; how to watch George Floyd's funeral ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  [Donate [WBUR]]( [View in Browser](  [WBUR]( June 9, 2020 Good Morning Boston, 😎 [sunny and pleasant](. Highs near 82. Massachusetts is trying to better understand and serve populations that were hit hardest by the coronavirus during the state's first surge. Here's what you should know: - Kids are often told to keep their hands to themselves or to put on a specific outfit for school, but they don't always listen. Add face masks and distancing into the mix? It's too restrictive, according to thousands of parents and child care providers who are pushing to change the state's rules for reopening daycares with an online [petition](. - Brookline will hold a "no touch" town election today. Although it's not exactly no touch. All voters will be given gloves and a pen, to be sanitized after use. Face coverings are also required inside [polling locations](. - You won't be pulling up a seat at a bar anytime soon. Bars that don't have seated food service now cannot reopen until phase four, which is set to be whenever a vaccine or treatment for COVID-19 is available. - As of Sunday night, a [new state law]( was signed by Gov. Charlie Baker that requires elder care facilities to make daily reports on their COVID-19 cases. The law also lays out more expansive reporting requirements, including the status of the virus' spread at jails and prisons, and creates a task force to address health disparities during the pandemic. - The coronavirus has put a spotlight on the racial divide in the health of our nation. People of color are dying at disproportionate and devastating rates due to underlying health conditions – often caused by inadequate access to good health care, more exposure to air and water pollution, and limited outdoor space. We're talking about this divide tonight at 6p.m. during our free, virtual Town Hall event. [Register here.]( P.S.– Today is George Floyd's funeral. It will be held at The Fountain of Praise church in Houston, Texas – Floyd's hometown – at noon.
