These are my top priorities for Colorado: 1. Protecting your rights 2. Creating climate-friendly jobs in our communities 3. Ending extreme partisanship in our politics Today, I want to talk about my most important goal. ▶ Protecting your rights. Republicans nationwide are on the offensive: Suppressing voters’ rights, censoring the LGBTQ+ community, and even promising to reverse Roe vs. Wade. And what’s behind it all? Political BS. Republicans don’t want to debate us on the issues, so instead they’re silencing voters who disagree with them. Banning mail-in voting forces working folks to choose between their paycheck and their ballot. Gerrymandering lets incumbents choose their electorate and block out anyone they want. It’s all a game to them. They’re silencing teachers from acknowledging that gay and trans people exist. It’s all because they think they can drum up a culture war to amp up their base! They think that if people can be divided on issues like LGBTQ rights, they won’t pay attention to the growing wealth gap, the pollution, or their dark money war chests. And it’s the same with reproductive rights. Except now the Supreme Court is expected to reverse Roe vs Wade this June – erasing the progress we’ve made over the last 40 years in reproductive rights. {NAME}, our rights are under attack. And Lauren Boebert, career politicians, and millionaire self-funders are behind it all. In June, Coloradans have a choice: Stick with the way things are or try something different.
