She had to perform nightly in Vegas and wasnât allowed to change any of the choreography. She couldnât drive a car, her first dates had to submit to blood tests and background checks, and she didnât have control of her own money. (Once, she tried to pay for dinner for her backup dancers and she didnât have enough in her allowance account to cover the check â mortifying.) After more than a decade of this, she was institutionalized against her will.
