The ironic humor of the phrase, of course, is that there is absolutely nothing funny about the platform’s towering role in the world of stand-up comedy. While TikTok and YouTube have helped launch more than a few careers by now, Netflix is where the most successful comedians go when they quickly want to reach a global audience — and get paid accordingly.
