It was four years ago today that Trump’s comments calling fallen Marines “suckers” and “losers” came to light. [VoteVets] It was four years ago today that Trump’s comments calling fallen Marines “suckers” and “losers” came to light. It’s a disgraceful anniversary, and a lot has happened since then. Trump’s own former Chief of Staff John Kelly confirmed the comments, and that Trump asked at the grave of Kelly’s fallen son: “I don’t get it. What was in it for them?” Trump refused to be seen with combat-wounded Troops as president, saying: “It doesn’t look good for me.” Trump tried to steal an election and launched an insurrection at the Capitol when he failed, a day that ranks alongside Pearl Harbor and 9/11 in its infamy. More recently, Trump degraded the Medal of Honor and all who earned it. Just last week, Trump desecrated Arlington National Cemetery and his campaign assaulted a cemetery official, all for a political photo op. But some good things have happened since then, too. We got the PACT Act across the finish line, and a million Veterans have received treatment for toxic exposures. We protected the VA from cuts under the Trump administration and stopped cold renewed efforts from the Republican-controlled House and far-right Senators like Trump’s own VP pick, JD Vance. Oh yeah, and one more thing... We defeated Trump. When VoteVets picks a fight, we win. And we’ve got Trump’s number.
