Every year, my wife and I go to Arlington National Cemetery to pay our respects to the fallen. Some killed in action, some died of wounds, injuries, or illnesses related to service, some of natural causes at home. All served with honor. [VoteVets] Paul Eaton here, wanted to send a personal note about something that has left me shocked, disturbed, and absolutely disgusted. Every year, my wife and I go to Arlington National Cemetery to pay our respects to the fallen. Some killed in action, some died of wounds, injuries, or illnesses related to service, some of natural causes at home. All served with honor. Among them are my father and his co-pilot, shot down over Laos during the Vietnam War. They were missing in action for thirty years, but now they are at peace together in that solemn and dignified place where the very best of our nation rest. I’ve stood with my dear friend, Karen Meredith, at the grave of her son, 1LT Ken Ballard, in Section 60 where the fallen from the Global War on Terror are buried. These are powerful experiences for me, and they should be for everyone who goes to this hallowed ground. To hear that Donald Trump descreated this place, that he took photographs and video among the graves of the fallen without their families' permission… That he mugged for the camera for political gain is absolutely disgusting to me. That an Arlington official attempting to enforce the law and defend the dignity of Arlington was assaulted, verbally and physically, by Trump’s staff so they could access Section 60… I cannot even begin to comprehend it. I want to be absolutely clear: This is something I have never seen or heard of in my entire life. To my knowledge, something like this has never occurred. And someone who can do something like that has no place leading the men and women of our Armed Forces. Donald Trump cannot become Commander in Chief again. It is on us to make sure that does not happen. That is why I am proud to work with VoteVets, and it is why I am asking you to make a donation to support our work right now. [Please, if you can make a donation of anything at all, we will use it to ensure that the American people never forget that Donald Trump desecrated one of our most sacred places. We will stop Trump.
