Dear {NAME}, Yesterday, Ohio held a special election to decide whether to raise the threshold for voters to pass amendments to the state constitution from a simple majority to 60%. In a win for democracy, the measure was defeated. Voter turnout was high given the timing of this special election. We're proud VoteRiders reached upwards of 2 MILLION at-risk Ohio voters ahead of Election Day with critical voter ID information and help. Ohio enacted one of the strictest voter ID laws in the country earlier this year, and this was a major test of our ability to reach voters at a massive scale to ensure they could overcome those barriers to make their voices heard. Reaching more than 2 million voters took time and resources. We spent more than $50,000 on our outreach efforts, and now I'm asking you to help us replenish our accounts as we look ahead to our work in 2024. [Make a generous donation today, friend, and carry our momentum forward as we reach even more voters in the months ahead:]( - [$35 provides one voter with a ride to the DMV or other ID-issuing government office.]( - [$50 funds the cost of securing a vital document (such as a birth certificate) for one voter to obtain voter ID.]( - [$500 covers the cost of a virtual textbank in one state to follow up with voters who are at risk of not having a valid ID to vote.]( [RUSH MY DONATION]( When Ohio enacted such a strict voter ID law, we knew VoteRiders had to fill a critical gap to ensure that voters weren’t just registered but knew what forms of ID they had to present to vote, and help them get an ID if they didn’t have one. Our on-the-ground Ohio coalition is new this year — we sprang into action as soon as the law was passed to try to mitigate its impact. In the few months since VoteRiders has been present in Ohio, we’ve already reached 2 million+ voters. Thanks to our incredible staff and volunteers, we sent more than 1 million text messages and more than 13,000 handwritten letters, distributed 118,600 Voter ID Information Cards, partnered with nearly 100 diverse organizations across the state, and reached 800,000 voters through digital ads. We’ll continue our nimble, effective, high-touch approach through the 2024 elections, but we need your help. [Donate now and power our work to reach the 25 million+ Americans who lack a photo ID.]( [DONATE NOW]( Thanks for being a VoteRiders supporter. With your generosity, I know we can ensure that every eligible voter can make their voice heard. Sincerely, Roy Speckhardt Development Director VoteRiders [DONATE]( VoteRiders is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit organization registered in the US under EIN 45-5081831. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
