Bad news, {NAME}. Last week, Ohio became the 8th state in the country to adopt a strict voter photo ID law. With the stroke of a pen, hundreds of thousands of eligible voters in Ohio have potentially been disenfranchised. These are voters who were eligible to vote in the 2022 midterms but who may lack an Ohio driver’s license or state ID card, US passport, or US military ID card -- which are now the only options for acceptable ID for voting. That’s where VoteRiders comes in. We need to start organizing in Ohio now to reach the voters who are impacted by this law and help them find or access the documents they need to obtain the photo ID now required to vote. [Donate now so we have the resources we need to help eligible voters in Ohio.]( [DONATE NOW!]( We weren’t expecting to have to devote this many resources to our program in Ohio. We knew we’d be working in Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Georgia to help voters get the ID they need to vote in time for 2024. But this new Ohio law throws a wrench in our planning — and our budget. Municipal elections in Ohio are coming up in May, and we don’t want a single voter in Ohio to be left out. [Please, donate now to ensure we can help every Ohio voter who needs to secure their voter ID before they can vote.]( We know it’s a challenge for some citizens to locate or apply for all the relevant documents they need to secure a state ID, as well as to pay for them. They may have difficulty making appointments at the right government agencies and then physically traveling there during limited business hours. VoteRiders is the leading organization working with people to secure the paperwork and fees they need to get their voter ID. We work with people — sometimes for months — to help them navigate the bureaucracy and red tape to get the ID they need to cast their ballot with confidence. [You can help us at this critical moment in Ohio. Donate now so we can reach and help thousands of Ohio voters]( Thank you for all that you do, Lauren Kunis CEO and Executive Director VoteRiders P.S.: Want to learn more about the new Ohio law and how it impacts voters? Check out our blog posting [here.]( [DONATE]( VoteRiders is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit organization registered in the US under EIN 45-5081831. This email was sent to {EMAIL}.
