{NAME}, Keith Bowens didn’t realize he needed an ID to vote until he got a postcard from VoteRiders informing him of new voter ID requirements in Georgia. He reached out to our staff and we were able to help. Keith was unemployed at the time, and we paid the fee for his ID and got him transportation to and from the DMV — costs he wouldn’t have been able to cover otherwise. “I want to have my chance to vote and have my vote counted,” he told TIME Magazine, in a feature story about the difficulties of voting in Georgia. “Now I have everything I need to do that.” [Will you donate right now so we can help more voters like Keith obtain the IDs they need to vote with confidence in the next election?]( Georgia passed a new voter ID law in 2021 that created new barriers for eligible voters — especially Black voters. As a result, VoteRiders was everywhere in Georgia in 2022, helping voters with the education and assistance they needed to vote in the primary, midterm, and runoff elections. It’s critical we sustain this level of assistance and engagement in Georgia and across the country to prepare for the 2024 presidential elections. No one should be silenced in our democracy because they can’t afford to renew their ID or can’t get to the DMV.
