She stepped up to run while pregnant, and even had a viral moment when she gave a speech while in active labor! Mayor Christy Holstege [Christy Holstege]( Mayor Christy Holstege made history as the first openly bisexual mayor in the United States when she became mayor of Palm Springs in 2020. She also gave birth to her son, Aden, two weeks before taking on her new role as mayor. Christy served on the nation's first all LGBTQ Council (!!) after she was elected to the Palm Springs City Council in 2017. ---------------------------------------------------------------
State Representative Emma Mulvaney-Stanak [Emma Mulvaney-Stanak]( Emma Mulvaney-Stanak knocked down a four-term incumbent to become a Member of the Vermont House of Representatives and is a member of its General Assembly Rainbow Caucus.
