Farewell George Santos, we hardly knew ye.

(seriously) {NAME},  George Santos was officially expelled from Congress last week. And we can honestly say – who? The caption reads “Farewell George, we hardly knew ye.”]( I mean, does anyone actually know who this man is? Is his name even George Santos? Or is it Anthony Devolder? Or Kitara? Is he Jewish or (as he described it) Jew-ish?  George Santos (we’ll stick with that) has told so many lies and committed so many crimes that no one could even keep a full tally, though NY Magazine certainly tried. Here’s an abbreviated list from their report last week:  - Embezzled $50K political donations through an LLC he controlled then spent the money on designer goods, Botox, OnlyFans, Sephora, and a blowout trip to Vegas. - Stole donor's credit card information and committed identity theft to collect extra campaign donations then repaid himself for $800K in loans he never made. - Lied about where he went to high school, college, and even where he worked. - Founded a fake dog rescue and stole money from a homeless, disabled veteran whose therapy dog was dying of cancer. Later stole puppies from an Amish dog breeder. - Claimed his mother died on or because of 9/11. She died of cancer in 2016. She wasn't even in the country, let alone NYC, on 9/11. - Claimed his grandparents were holocaust survivors (they weren't), that he had multiple employees who were killed in the Pulse nightclub shooting (he didn't), and that his niece had been kidnapped (she wasn't). And perhaps the most mind-boggling: - Claimed he was cast in Hannah Montana before later becoming a Broadway producer.  ...and all of that came BEFORE he got into Congress. Allegedly, of course.  The only thing more baffling than the lies and crimes of George Santos is the fact he was allowed to stay in Congress as long as he did, thanks in no small part to the four Republicans representing Arkansas in the House right now.  They said nothing when Santos was handed committee seats after his extensive lies and alleged campaign fraud were exposed by the media.  They said nothing when Santos was hit with an indictment for campaign finance crimes and other allegations.  They said nothing when Santos received a superseding indictment with EVEN MORE (alleged) CRIMES.  They said nothing when the House Ethics Committee issued their findings and strongly called for Santos to be expelled.  For 11 months this fraudster was allowed to keep making laws that impact all of us – and they said nothing.  When other Republicans finally forced a vote on the expulsion:  - Womack and Westerman voted to expel – the bare minimum that could be expected given the body of evidence and months of coverage. - Rick Crawford couldn’t be bothered to do that much, he decided not to vote at all. - And French Hill decided George Santos should STAY in Congress. He voted against expulsion.  If we can’t count on our congressmen to hold such a cartoonishly corrupt character like George Santos accountable, how can we expect them to stand up to Donald Trump the next time he tries an insurrection? Or giant corporations trying to skirt regulations that keep our communities safe?  We can’t. That’s why Vortex has recruited four Democrats to take them on and FLIP these seats next year. The power that we as voters vest in our representatives impacts millions if not billions of lives – for our own communities AND around the world.  We have the right to expect our members to conduct themselves with integrity and always put the needs of their constituents first. That’s the job.  Our current representatives aren’t up to the task, and it’s time for them all to follow George Santos out the door.  [We can flip all four seats next year with your help and put an end to this chaos.
