{NAME} – This is the announcement you’ve been waiting for.  This morning, fresh out of Vortex’s Congress Camp, three of our four bold Democratic challengers filed to run for the U.S. House of Representatives.  We know we’ve kept you waiting for months, so without any further ado, allow me to introduce… [The Vortex team and candidates take questions from reporters on the steps of the Arkansas statehouse. From left to right: House candidate Caitlin Draper, Vortex co-founder Chris Jones, House candidate Rodney Govens, House candidate Marcus Jones, and Vortex co-founder Robb Ryerse. ]( Rodney Govens (District 1) is an Army veteran and has worked in telecommunications for almost two decades – but his real source of pride is his family and his work on behalf of foster youth. A longtime Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer, member of the Board of Directors of Foster Love, and former foster child himself, Rodney’s use of his freetime underscores his commitment to his community and to Arkansas families. Rodney lives in Cabot with his wife Stacy and their twins. [Click here to help Vortex elect Rodney.](  Marcus Jones (District 2) is a decorated retired U.S. Army Colonel who spent 29 years on the frontlines to defend democracy abroad and at home. Marcus thought serving as the Senior Army Advisor to the Arkansas Army National Guard was his final service to his country. Now he says his service won’t end until he’s sure he’s leaving behind a better future for his two children and all families in our state. [Click here to help Vortex elect Marcus.](  Caitlin Draper (District 3) is a small business owner, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and University of Arkansas adjunct lecturer on a personal mission to improve the lives of Arkansas children and families. Caitlin’s career has provided a front-row seat to the horrors inflicted upon women and LGBTQ+ families by Republican power grabs and policy. As a member of Congress, she will prioritize improving and protecting education, women’s reproductive care, and climate action. Caitlin and her husband live in Fayetteville. From left to right: Vortex co-founder Robb Ryerse, House candidate Rodney Govens, House candidate Caitlin Draper, House candidate Marcus Jones, and Vortex co-founder Chris Jones. ]( In a unique, first-in-the-state process, these candidates were identified by their own community and neighbors as Arkansas leaders worthy of representing our state in Congress.  Rodney, Marcus, and Caitlin embody the values of progress, empathy, and community that Arkansas needs. With their dedication and vision, they represent a brighter future for our state.  [With your help and ours, I know they will deliver. Can you chip in $25, $50, or $100 today to help Vortex give them a strong head start against their Republican incumbents?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [  Express Donate: $25 >>  Â]( [  Express Donate: $50 >>  Â]( [  Express Donate: $100 >> Â]( [  Express Donate: $250 >> Â]( [  Express Donate: $500 >> Â]( [  Donate Other Amount: >> Â]( We will send out more information about these exceptional candidates (plus ways to support them directly) over the next few weeks and introduce our final Democratic challenger who was not available to file this morning.  Before I go, I have to say thank you, {NAME}.  We did not have a map to follow or a blueprint to copy to get us here today. All we had was a vision, a mission, and your support.  Nothing we’ve accomplished so far would have been possible without Americans like you believing in us and refusing to give up on FLIPPING Arkansas next year.  Together, we will.  Chris Jones [Support Vortex >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
