Yeah, Steve. We all are. {NAME},  This week Republicans finally managed to pick a Speaker to replace Kevin McCarthy. And boy did they pick a doozy.  Rep. Steve Womack joined every other House Republican to swiftly cast his vote for MAGA Mike Johnson because, apparently, he was tired.  “I think it's logical to say [Johnson is] benefiting from the fact that we're tired of this." Steve Womack Arkansas Democrat Gazette  Just last week Womack put his foot down and repeatedly voted against “extremist” Jim Jordan – only to turn around and vote for “Jim Jordan in a jacket.”  Let’s be clear: Mike Johnson is no less extreme than Jim Jordan. In fact, he’s worse.  Womack is effectively co-signing all Johnson’s most extreme policies with this vote. Here’s a short list of Johnson’s priorities that will send a shiver down your spine: - Rejecting the legitimate results of an election - Pushing for a national abortion ban AND advocating that abortion providers be sentenced to “10 years hard labor” - Calling for a national “Don’t Say Gay” bill, attacking marriage equality AND same-sex relationships - Completely dismantling Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid - Offering up Thoughts and Prayers® instead of common sense gun reform in the wake of another devastating mass shooting [Anyone ready to co-sign all of that is too extreme to be in Congress. Vortex is working to flip AR-03 and send Steve packing in 2024. It’s simple. They’re birds of a feather.  Until this week, virtually no one knew who Rep. Mike Johnson was – because much like Womack, he’s kept a relatively low profile in the House. And Steve thinks that’s a good thing.  "It's probably a good thing that he flies a bit under the radar. Once you're on the radar, people are taking shots at you."  Is Steve Womack afraid of being called out for HIS record? Frankly, he should be. - Voted AGAINST reproductive freedom - Voted AGAINST bipartisan gun safety - Voted AGAINST affordable healthcare - Voted AGAINST protecting women from domestic violence - Voted AGAINST workers’ rights It fits the bill for a guy who votes in line with MAGA Republicans 90% of the time. Mike Johnson and Steve Womack are mainstream Republicans – and that’s the problem.  [We only need to flip 5 seats for Democrats to take back the House majority next year and put an end to this nightmare.
