{NAME} â Last night Chris wrote to you all about Mike Huckabeeâs dangerous words on one of his recent shows, claiming that if Trump loses or is prevented from running, â[2024] is going to be the last American election that will be decided by ballots rather than bullets.â  Now weâre seeing the rotten fruit of this kind of rhetoric in action.  Last night, a pair of Trump supporters unfurled a massive flag at a baseball game in Yankee Stadium with the ominous warning: âTrump or Death.â  During the national anthem. [An animated gif of a video clip of 2 men unfurling a large flag at a baseball game which reads âTrump or DEATHâ with Trumpâs photo in the center and the years 1776 and 2024 on either side of his image.]( This is not hyperbole. This is a statement of intent, and should be treated as such. They proved that on January 6th.  This is a stark reminder of whatâs at stake in 2024, and how urgent it is to remove ANYONE who promotes or tolerates violent messages like this from elected office.  The four Republicans representing Arkansas right now have been silent in the face of Huckabeeâs words. One of them, Rick Crawford, even voted to overturn Joe Bidenâs 2020 election victory.  All of them have voted against strengthening voting rights and protecting our elections from interference.  These are not men we can trust to protect our communities or our democracy. If these tactics end up working to keep Trump from winning or even running in 2024, it is going to be the last American election that will be decided by ballots rather than bullets.â]( This is exactly the kind of rhetoric that Donald Trump used to fuel the violent mob who stormed the Capitol on January 6th.  And itâs no surprise to hear this from our former governor (and father of the current governor). The Huckabee family has a well-documented history of palling around with extremists who donât respect our democratic process. Without it, none of our freedoms are guaranteed.  Mike Huckabeeâs extreme, reckless rhetoric threatens to incite another, even more deadly insurrection in 2024. We must answer this threat with an overwhelming surge of ordinary Americans showing up to elect people who will defend our democracy and serve the will of the voters â not despotic, petty, bitter little would-be-kings like Donald Trump.  Every public servant â Democrat AND Republican â should rebuke Huckabeeâs dangerous words.
