We’ve got a lot of lemons in Arkansas. Let’s make some lemonade. Happy National Lemonade D

We’ve got a lot of lemons in Arkansas. Let’s make some lemonade. Happy National Lemonade Day, {NAME}! [A graphic with an illustration of a pitcher of lemonade surrounded by lemons, and a bumblebee zooming over the pitcher. The caption reads “Happy National Lemonade Day!” with the Vortex logo beneath.]( We’ve been focusing on a lot of bad news lately (and there’s plenty of it to go around), so I’d like to talk about how we’re going to turn all these lemons into lemonade.  The answer is deceptively simple: We’re going mobilize voters in every corner of this state who are sick of representatives who work *against* the common good of all Arkansans.  You may have seen news of a major win in Ohio a couple weeks back. A Republican-led ballot referendum to make it harder for voters to amend the state constitution failed overwhelmingly, because it turns out that asking voters to give themselves less power is not a winning message.  If this sounds familiar, it’s because voters here in Arkansas voted down a nearly identical measure last year. Then Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her lackeys in the state legislature passed a law changing the requirements anyway.  Arkansans and voting rights advocates called it an attack on direct democracy – and we saw the impact of their unconstitutional acts in the recent “Say No to LEARNS” campaign that fell just a few hundred signatures short of the new requirements.  But I promised you good news... 😂  The biggest takeaway from the CAPES campaign to stop LEARNS is that voters from EVERY part of the political spectrum will show up IF we give them something (or someone?) they’re excited to vote for.  That’s the core of our work here at Vortex. We are recruiting, training, and supporting candidates to flip every seat representing Arkansas in Congress – and building a bench of qualified candidates and campaign professionals for long-term change.  How much is our democracy worth to you? Put a number on that, and pitch in today to get our training program off the ground: If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [  Express Donate: $10 >> Â]( [  Express Donate: $50 >> Â]( [  Express Donate: $100 >>Â]( [  Express Donate: $250 >>Â]( [  Express Donate: $500 >>Â]( [  Donate Other Amount: >>]( Between Republicans in our state house trampling on Democracy with this unconstitutional law, and Republicans in Congress peddling Donald Trump’s election lies, one thing is clear: Republicans know they can’t win on the strength of their policies.  Despite their every effort to stop people from voting or force through laws that nobody wants, Arkansas voters keep showing up to push back.  The odds have been stacked against us by unfair and undemocratic practices. But we are going to change that by mobilizing voters from every corner of the state.  You saw what CAPES was able to achieve despite having HALF the time provided by our state constitution to gather signatures taken from them.  Arkansas is thirsty for change. If we start right now – and I mean today – we can move hundreds of thousands of voters to the polls next November and completely rewrite the political playbook for so-called red states.  [To pull this off, we need everyone who believes that Arkansas is worth fighting for to do their part. Can we count on you to pitch in today?](  Let’s go! We are recruiting, training, and supporting Democratic candidates to flip all four of Arkansas’ U.S. congressional districts and help win back the House majority in 2024.
