"I didn't know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don't know, is she Indian or is she Black?" {NAME},  These were Donald Trump's shocking words about Vice President Kamala Harris at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention in Chicago. [Screenshot of a CNN Politics article titled 'Donald Trump falsely suggests Kamala Harris ‘happened to turn Black’' by Eric Bradner and Aaron Pellish. The image shows a picture of Donald Trump seated on the left and ABC News’ Rachel Scott seated on the right. Below the image is a quote from Trump: 'She was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago, when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?' the former president said.]( The audience gasped. And for good reason.  As a Black man in America, I was deeply disturbed by Trump's racist remarks. But I wasn't surprised.  This is the same man who led the "birther" movement against President Obama and has a long history of divisive, hateful rhetoric.  Trump's comments about Harris were so bad, even Tommy Tuberville wouldn't defend them when asked.  But it hasn't stopped. Since that event last week, Trump and his running mate JD Vance have repeated these vicious attacks at every rally and campaign stop.  What gives me hope is how the majority of the Black journalists leading the panel last week held Trump accountable, asking tough questions and fact-checking his statements in real time. They showed us the power of speaking truth to power. And in the days that followed, I'm encouraged to see many in the media calling these racist comments exactly what they are.  Trump's pathetic, age-old racism didn't work against Obama, and it won't work against Harris. This man does not get to define what it means to be Black or American.  Now, it's our turn to take action.  Here at Vortex PAC, we're building a movement to transform Arkansas politics and send representatives to Washington who truly reflect our values.  We're working to flip all four of Arkansas' congressional seats from red to BLUE.  Our current representatives in Arkansas have consistently aligned themselves with Trump's agenda. They've shown they won't stand up to his dangerous policies or racist rhetoric – some of them even agree with it! We need leaders who will fight for justice, equality, and the rights of all Arkansans.  That's why we've recruited extraordinary candidates who represent Arkansas values. We're also training volunteers across all 75 counties and mobilizing voters, especially young people and communities of color.  We're building a sustainable Democratic infrastructure in our state that will serve us for years to come.  [But we need your help to succeed. Will you chip in $25, $50, $100, $250, or whatever you can afford today to fuel our fight against those who seek to perpetuate racism and hold back our democracy and its people from thriving?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [  Express Donate: $25  Â]( [  Express Donate: $50  Â]( [   Express Donate: $75  Â]( [  Express Donate: $100 Â]( [  Express Donate: $250 Â]( [  Donate Other Amount  Â]( Your contribution will help us grow our statewide volunteer training program, expand our voter outreach efforts, and provide crucial resources to our candidates.  Every dollar brings us closer to our goal of flipping seats BLUE and changing the course of Arkansas politics.  The forces of division are strong, but I believe Arkansans are stronger.  We've seen grassroots movements make significant changes in other states. While every state's political landscape is unique, I KNOW we can make a difference here in Arkansas too.  [Trump's remarks are a stark reminder of what's at stake. Your donation today will help us mobilize voters and elect leaders who will fight for justice and equality. Please give now.](  Let's show Trump and his allies that Arkansas rejects hate and embraces hope. Let's build a future we can all be proud of.  Let’s go!  Dr. Chris Jones [Support Vortex PAC >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
