This is dire and we need your help. {NAME},  Senator Patty Murray just sounded the alarm, and Arkansas, we all need to pay attention now: [A Tweet/X Post by Senator Patty Murray, posted on July 9, 2024, which reads: ]( Let’s be very clear about what’s happening: Senate Republicans have just blocked legislation that would protect a woman's right to travel across state lines for healthcare, including life-saving abortion care. They're not just content with banning abortion in their own states - they want to prevent women from seeking care anywhere else, too.  The reality for women in Arkansas is already dire. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, accessing essential reproductive healthcare has become nearly impossible. This latest action by Senate Republicans threatens to make it even harder for women to seek care outside the state.  Women in Arkansas face a cruel choice: carry a pregnancy to term against their will or embark on a grueling journey of up to 400-500 miles or more to Illinois, Kansas, or Georgia - some of the nearest states where they can legally access abortion care. [A graphic from the Guttmacher Institute titled 'Interactive Map: US Abortion Policies and Access After Roe.' It shows a map of the United States with states color-coded based on their abortion policies as of July 9, 2024. States are categorized as most restrictive, very restrictive, restrictive, less restrictive, state enforces protections, protective, or most protective. Arkansas is highlighted with a label indicating 'Most Restrictive.']( That can be over 8 hours of driving, one way. Time off work. Childcare. Gas money. Hotel stays. All for healthcare that should be available right here at home.  This isn't just a matter of distance. It's about navigating unfamiliar healthcare systems while dealing with the stress and urgency of their situation. For many, this journey is simply impossible.  All four of Arkansas' Representatives and both Senators supported overturning Roe. Multiple have even backed a national abortion ban.  If they get their way, the challenges Arkansas women face will become every woman's problem in every part of America.  We're fighting back. A few days ago, we celebrated as over 100,000 Arkansans signed petitions to put abortion rights on the ballot this November. Today we learned that the Secretary of State has rejected the submission of the petition.  We don’t know yet what will happen, but there is incredible momentum here in Arkansas to protect reproductive freedom – and we need your help to keep it going.  Vortex candidates Rodney, Marcus, Caitlin, and Risie are ready to represent the actual will of Arkansas voters in Congress, not the agenda of politicians beholden to their donors. They'll fight tirelessly to protect our reproductive rights and ensure that healthcare decisions remain between a woman and her doctor, not her lawmaker.  [But we can't elect them without your support. Your donation today will fund our statewide volunteer program, power our get-out-the-vote efforts, and help us flip these seats in November. Can you chip in $25, $50, $75, or even $100 today to help us fight for reproductive freedom in Arkansas and across the nation?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [  Express Donate: $25  Â]( [  Express Donate: $50  Â]( [  Express Donate: $100 Â]( [  Express Donate: $250 Â]( [  Express Donate: $500 Â]( [  Donate Other Amount  Â]( The clock is ticking. With every day that passes, more women are forced to make impossible choices or take dangerous risks. We can't wait any longer.  I'm proud to be part of the team here at Vortex working to elect bold Democrats who will unambiguously defend our reproductive rights in Congress. Your support is crucial to our success, and we are grateful for your partnership.  Republicans are trying to trap women in states with abortion bans. We won't let them succeed. [Please donate now to help us elect pro-choice champions and protect our rights.](  Let's keep the momentum going!  Thank you,  Jennifer Browne Team Vortex [Support Vortex PAC >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
