{NAME} – I couldn’t make this up if I tried. This week House Republicans voted to hold

(Not you, {NAME}...Steve Womack.) {NAME} – I couldn’t make this up if I tried.  This week House Republicans voted to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena.  Yes, these are the same House Republicans who refused to hold Steve Bannon accountable for dodging a congressional subpoena over his involvement with Donald Trump’s crimes.  And yes, these are the same House Republicans who refused to hold their own caucus member, Jim Jordan, accountable for failure to comply with a subpoena over his involvement in the planning behind January 6th.  EVERY member from Arkansas voted for this nonsense, and Steve Womack even went online to make an “official statement.” (I had my own thoughts to add.) [A screenshot of a tweet from Robb Ryerse quoting Steve Womack’s official statement on the contempt of Congress Vote for Merrick Garland. Robb’s tweet reads: “Now do Jim Jordan.”]( At issue here is Garland’s refusal to submit audio of President Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur – despite the fact Garland DID already submit the transcripts of that interview to Congress.  This is what our congressmen are wasting their time (and ours) on. Instead of passing a budget to avoid another debt ceiling fight or working with Democrats to guarantee healthcare or good jobs, Womack and the others are peacocking about a meaningless vote in a sham investigation.  To which I say, “Get back to work, you doofus.”  Congress has literally one job: Passing laws that make our government function. THIS is not that.  [If you’re ready to send these goobers home and elect some real community leaders who will actually do their jobs and represent us, we have four bold Democrats on the ballot this November. Pitch in now and help Vortex flip every seat in Arkansas!]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [  Express Donate: $25  Â]( [  Express Donate: $50  Â]( [  Express Donate: $100 Â]( [  Express Donate: $250 Â]( [  Express Donate: $500 Â]( [  Donate Other Amount: Â]( This useless vote has no bearing on anything that matters to any American. It doesn’t keep us safer. It doesn’t make us healthier. It doesn’t create jobs.  It serves no purpose other than to give Republicans something to talk about on the campaign trail and help them cover up the fact that this is the least productive congress in American history.  Let’s send them packing in November and get Congress back to work.  More soon,  Robb [Support Vortex PAC >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
