Break out your tiniest violins, {NAME}. We’re all going to play a sad song for Rick Crawford. [A graphic featuring a photo of Rick Crawford in committee in Congress, seated in front of a microphone with his palm open and turned up. At the top is a headline from the Arkansas Times reading: “Congressman Rick Crawford sues the United States for a pay raise, says $174K salary is not enough.” Included is a quote from the article reading: “In Arkansas, where the median individual income is less than $32,000 and the median household income is $56,335, Crawford might have to do some convincing.” The caption at the bottom reads: “Donate now to send Rick home to look for a new job!”]( [DONATE NOW]( In case you missed it: Congressman Rick Crawford (AR-01) filed a lawsuit against the U.S. federal government last month demanding a pay raise.  Now that is RICH for a bunch of reasons.  First of all, Crawford and the rest of our Arkansas reps voted AGAINST raising the federal minimum wage from $7.25 (where it’s been stuck since 2009) to $15 an hour – the bare minimum needed for any full-time worker to afford a one-bedroom apartment in Arkansas.  Second, Crawford’s congressional salary is nearly 5.5 times the median individual income for a worker in Arkansas.  And finally, guess who approves pay raises for members of Congress?  CONGRESS DOES.  So, is Rick Crawford suing...himself?  I wish this was a joke, {NAME}, but this is 100% real, and 100% ridiculous.  [Will you pitch in to Vortex today to send Crawford and the rest of the fools representing Arkansas home this November?]( [FLIP ARKANSAS]( All jokes aside, this silliness is exactly why we started Vortex.  For our congressman to file a lawsuit demanding a pay raise, without a hint of irony or humility or compassion for the struggling working people of his own district, is proof that he just doesn’t get it and it’s time for him to go.  Donate now to flip this seat and take back the House Majority!  Let’s go!  Robb   P.S. The Vortex community nominated veteran and activist Rodney Govens to flip AR-01, and Rodney had a few choice words for Crawford’s silly lawsuit. Check out Rodney’s video [here](, and then [pitch in]( to help him beat Crawford in November. [Support Vortex today >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right. We are recruiting, training, and supporting Democratic candidates to flip all four of Arkansas’ U.S. congressional districts and help win back the House majority in 2024.
