If we build it, they will come

(No, I’m not talking about baseball.) {NAME} – Sometimes people ask me why we’re doing this.  “Why bother trying to build up democratic organizing power in a “red state” like Arkansas?”  To quote a classic: [An animated gif of a video clip from the 1989 movie Field of Dreams, showing actor Kevin Costner portraying the farmer named Ray Kinsella as he walks through a cornfield reacting to a whispered voice that tells him, “If you build it, they will come.”]( We started Vortex to grow Democratic organizing power in Arkansas. In just over one year we’ve recruited four bold Democrats, launched a candidate training program, helped them build their teams, and made EVERY congressional seat competitive.  Now it’s time to recruit and train the volunteers that will take our candidates to victory.
