Republicans are threatening to vacate the Speaker AGAIN. {NAME} – It’s been five months *to the day* since the last time we asked: Do you want to be Speaker of the House?  Well come on down! You could be the next contestant. [An animated gif of a clip from the game show, The Price is Right, showing a contestant excitedly running down from his seat in the audience and jumping for joy as he takes his place among the other contestants. The phrase “COME ON DOWN” appears in all caps and sparkly font at the bottom.]( Last Fall Republicans voted to oust their Speaker because he cut a deal with Democrats to pass a spending bill and keep the government open for business.  We went almost a full month with no one steering the ship before they finally got their act together and picked Mike Johnson.  Well, Johnson’s days may be numbered. Because (stop me if you’ve heard this one) after he cut a deal with Democrats to pass a spending bill and keep the government open for business, Marjorie Taylor Greene filed a motion to vacate the Speaker. [A screenshot from ABC News Live of reporters surrounding Marjorie Taylore Greene with a chyron that reads: “BREAKING NEWS: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene filing a motion to vacate the speaker’s chair.”]( The last time they did this, the House was shut down for weeks before they picked the *leading* election denier to put in charge. Heaven only knows who they’ll pick next.  Vortex is working to help take back the House majority for Democrats by flipping all four seats here in Arkansas. With your help we’ve recruited four bold Democrats to run for every seat. Now we need to help them scale their campaigns and WIN.  [Can you chip in $25, $50, $100 or more today to win back the House?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [  Express Donate: $25  Â]( [  Express Donate: $50  Â]( [  Express Donate: $100 Â]( [  Express Donate: $250 Â]( [  Express Donate: $500 Â]( [  Donate Other Amount: Â]( This Republican circus in Congress is certainly producing a lot of material for late night comedy shows, and I’ll admit I’ve had my fun with a few jokes. But the reality is, this isn’t funny at all.  One of our three branches of government has been repeatedly ground to a halt by a handful of radical right-wingers holding our country hostage – and that’s a constitutional crisis.  [If it wasn’t already clear that Democrats have got to take back the majority next year, this proves it. Chip in now to help us fight for progress and flip these seats next year.](  Let’s go! Dr. Chris Jones [Support Vortex PAC >>](      Vortex PAC is a new grassroots movement to transform Arkansas politics away from the far-right.
