In this industry there is much pride, dignity and honor. None more than at Saintsbury. David Grave is a scholar, a man of his word, and one of the top three people in the industry I respect the most. But in a time of difficulty he made a decision to hold back releasing several wines.
Why? If you remember, the US economy had storm clouds so thick we couldn't see our hands in front of our face. This is when David made a call to keep rolling, don’t look back, release the next vintage and let several wines age gracefully in the cellar and release at a later date…well, today we are reaching a fever pitch!
