First, here's the ad: And here's the landing page: (Notice the altered 18 minute video on the landing page - to reinforce the messaging in the 42 minute VSL as in-stream ad.) First let's take a look at the PATTERN INTERRUPT: Great job on this pattern interrupt in the first ~3 seconds. Remember, grabbing viewer attention is crucial, especially in the following initial time windows: 1) in the first 5 seconds, to get the user to stick around past the "skip ad" button...
2) in the first 10 seconds, since Google registers an "engagement" at 10 seconds, which we've found is a key determining factor for your traffic cost. (More on that in [this VidTao blog post here](... You'll this pattern interrupt grabs 3 different types of viewer attention, in 3 different ways: * VISUAL: interesting reversed time lapse of eating breakfast, grabs your visual attention* AUDIO: "robovoice" AI voiceover grabs your auditory attention* COPY: Though-provoking question "If you want to slim down, you should avoid breakfast, true or false?" provokes the viewer's rational mind to find an answer to the question, creating an "open loop"... How can you make sure you're grabbing attention in these 3 ways in your own hooks & intros? Share your best with us and we'll provide feedback! PRODUCTION QUALITY, ITERATION/TEST FLOW, + MORE... 5) Plain powerpoint starting at 36:52 We've talked about this before, (like in [this blog post about a series of multimillion dollar YouTube ads that started with a simple powerpoint video]( but it's likely this is also the iterative process used to build this VSL: 1) Start with text-only powerpoint videos with voiceover
2) Test multiple versions using this simple & quick-to-build format
3) Once you have data, build out higher production value versions of already proven VSL elements (i.e. re-make the powerpoint into b-roll + voiceover, b-roll + voiceover to cartoon, etc. etc.) The takeaway?
