Cheney Sounds the Alarm • Biden Seeks Advice • Trouble for the Squad [View in your browser]( | [Update your preferences](newsletter=vf) [Vanity Fair Hive logo image]( High Vibes and Misdemeanors: The GOP’s Biden Impeachment Stunt Picks Up Steam Does the GOP of 10 years ago look at all like the GOP of today? Not in the eyes of Liz Cheney. In an [interview]( with Eric Lutz, the former ranking Republican of the January 6 committee argued that hers has become the “anti-Constitution party,” which she has watched with “a combination of disgust and sadness.” Perhaps case in point, as Molly Jong-Fast [wrote]( this week, is the absurd impeachment push Republicans continue to wage against Joe Biden despite no evidence of wrongdoing. Evidence or not, though, the president’s road to reelection isn’t going to be smooth sailing. One reason, among many: Donald Trump continues to have a firm grip on evangelical voters, which Tim Alberta [broke down]( in a book excerpt featuring a prominent conservative Christian who broke with the religious right over Trump’s rise. Another reason: Biden is [still struggling]( to sell the American public on “Bidenomics” despite favorable jobs numbers. Meanwhile, speaking of 2024, the Squad, too, might be in trouble. Jack McCordick [chatted]( with The Intercept’s Ryan Grim to discuss why the Israel-Hamas war could pose major political challenges for key members next year.
