Kissinger Dead at 100 • Tuberville Mess • Cheney Sounds Off [View in your browser]( | [Update your preferences](newsletter=vf) [Vanity Fair Hive logo image]( Will Nikki Haley Be the Last Non-Trump Candidate Standing? Good morning from the Hive newsroom. Henry Kissinger, who served as secretary of state under two presidents and advised others, died Wednesday at age 100, [writes]( Jim Kelly. Though Kissinger was a “titanic figure on the world stage,” he was, in later years, “dogged by accusations of war crimes.” Elsewhere, Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley is [raking in backers]( with deep pockets. A super PAC founded by entrepreneurs including George W. Bush’s cousin, Jonathan Bush, and a billionaire scientific research executive hopes to sway independents toward Haley, particularly in New Hampshire. Meanwhile, Americans for Prosperity Action, a Koch auxiliary force, has said Haley “offers the best opportunity to improve the lives of all Americans.” And, on Wednesday, JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon urged even liberal Democrats to support her as the anti–Donald Trump candidate. Plus, Eric Lutz [updates us]( on Tommy Tuberville and his blockade on military nominations. “I got y’all into this mess,” he reportedly said during a closed-door lunch. “I’m gonna get you out.” And Bess Levin [has the latest]( on House Republican’s desperate attempt to take down Hunter Biden.
