Kigali moves up the ranking for the most popular destinations for International conferences and events. Kigali has made hosting meetings and events a key source of investments. In 2018, Rwanda earned $56 million [from hosting conferences]( and meetings in the capital Kigali. And at the Africa CEO Forum hosted by Kigali earlier this year, it was revealed that the country is projected to earn $88 million in 2019 from the hosting of events and international conferences. Nigeria is set to commence the initial phase of its coastal railway project. The Nigerian government has approved the request from the Ministry of Transportation to source $2.3 billion loans to execute the [Lagos-Calabar coastal railway]( project, which is expected to cut across most states in the South East and South South. Coffee by women – Nestle is renewing its Nescafe Plan with a more inclusive target in Kenya. Nestle has renewed its Nescafe Plan in Kenya, this time with a focus on women. The multinational food and drink giant [is going to spend Sh23million]( $227,000) to empower coffee growing households in the Western and Central regions of Kenya. Germany joins the UK in suspending refugee aid to Uganda. Last year, a whistleblower within the Ugandan government notified donors that large sums had been [withdrawn from the account]( where the aid money received from donors was deposited. In response, the United Nations (UN) launched a probe into Uganda’s refugee programme through which it discovered corruption in the scheme.
