Hello {NAME}, Are you ready for today’s tip? Let’s tackle sales calls. I’ve been having some of you say that navigating the dreaded sales call can feel a bit like walking on eggshells… And let me be the first to say that I HEAR you. I struggled for quite a while to nail the perfect sales call process myself. (Psst... in a hurry? Scroll down to the bottom of the email for the special announcement!) It can be a bit scary or overwhelming to sell your new program, and there are plenty of misconceptions out there that could turn off a good lead. I think since we’ve already spent so much time formulating our program and what type of content to post, we should focus a bit more on the actual moneymaker: conversion. So, I’m giving all of you here reading this email somewhat of a new year’s resolution to follow (don’t worry, you’ll be glad I did!) The Resolution: NAIL YOUR SALES CALLS! It is so, so important that we present ourselves appropriately to our leads, so let me take a moment to debunk three of the biggest misconceptions about sales calls: 👉 1. Do Not Give Free Coaching on the Call This could deter your lead from further seeking out your services because they’ll think they already know everything they need to know. For example: “Well, Vanessa already told me everything I need to know. So let me implement that FIRST, and then decide if I want to hire her.” ^ Which, by the way, most times what they implement WON’T work, because it’s impossible to give someone A-Z results in just a 30-minute call. So, when it doesn’t work, then they say, “Well, that didn’t work. It must mean Vanessa isn’t a good coach.” You see what’s happening here? You need to be transparent with your lead that the purpose of the call is determining their FIT for your program, and is not a free coaching call. 👉 2. Listen More Than You Speak This follows a similar theme from the previous tip: you are already the established expert on the call. So, avoid going on a tangent about your own experiences and wasting this essential time together. Instead, make a conscious effort to get to know your lead better, especially their desires and pain points. Ask the right questions to get the relevant information you need and listen to their answers attentively. They’ll reveal what they’re looking for, so you don’t have to project your guess onto them. 👉 3. Don’t Follow Your Sales Script to a T Finally, one of the most important lessons that we all need to learn from and leave behind in 2020 is exactly following sales scripts. Even though inside [The BOSSGRAM Academy]( we provide our students with high converting sales scripts, we ALWAYS tell our students that it’s meant to be a conversation. So, think of your sales script as more of a set of guidelines than an actual script to memorize, because news flash: It’s obvious if you’re memorizing and speaking like a robot. On top of that, when you’re so focused on memorizing, you aren’t actually listening. Make sure that you’re taking in what they’re telling you so you can mirror their language and repeat what they’re saying back to them. This way, your lead will recognize that the two of you are on the same page and they will feel understood. Additionally, you’ll best be able to screen them when you carry calls this way. So, that’s how many bad apples to leave behind in 2020? 😂👇  Now that we’re through that, I want to return to our game of Hangman. Here’s where we left off… “_ _ _ _ _ _ A _  A _ A _ _ _ _  _ A _ _ _” Let me throw out a few more letter suggestions… S! C! M! B! L! H! “B_SS_ _AM ACA_ _M_ LA_ _CH” Wait a minute… Starting to look like something? That’s right…  🎉 [It’s THE BOSSGRAM ACADEMY LAUNCH!!!]( 🎉 I’m ecstatic to announce that [the BOSSGRAM Academy]( BGA) is back and open for business!
