It's a scholarship-funded summer program that connects first-year students with internship and research opportunities in their hometown communities. [And I want to ask you to consider a generous donation to help meet a $6,000 goal by March 31 to provide a Home to Texas summer internship to a deserving Longhorn.]( [Support a Home to Texas intern]( Many students from small or rural communities come to UT and few of them return to their hometowns after graduation. As a result, many Texas communities lose a significant talent base of future professionals and leaders. This has presented a big problem for small-town Texas. Even though only 18% of us here in Texas live outside metropolitan areas and six of America's largest 25 cities are here, I believe each of us should care about small towns and rural communities because of the social good they promote. This is why the IC² Institute created the Home to Texas program — and why I hope you'll [consider a donation to help reach the $6,000 summer internship program goal.]( When you do... - You'll help cover the amount a student earns while participating in the Home to Texas program — ensuring they are well paid for their work and research! - You'll empower a unique program aimed at mitigating the emigration of talent from small-town Texas communities. - You'll help a young Longhorn develop a strong professional foundation early during their UT experience. - You'll help build connections for a potential future in the student's home community. - You'll help prepare the next generation of community leaders. Changing the world starts by helping students develop real-world experience that motivates them to become more involved in their communities, and thus, more able to impact the world around them. Yes, what starts here changes the world, {NAME}, and at Home to Texas we suggest that changing the world starts at home. [So please give a generous donation to help reach the $6,000 Home to Texas goal — and know your gift by March 31 will help fund the summer internship of a deserving Longhorn.]( Thank you, and hook 'em!
