The Thanksgiving Lunch included all the Thanksgiving classics and facilitated mission delivery by helping service members and their families connect to American holiday traditions while serving overseas. This meal will likely be the only formal Thanksgiving meal for many service members due to mission requirements. At USO Grafenwoehr, U.S. troops and family members received Thanksgiving turkeys and meals from senior leaders during the USO-hosted Thanks for Thanksgiving event. GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT [Chef Carla Hall] Chef Carla Hall Helps USO Salute Military Chefs On Nov. 2, 2023, Chef Carla Hall, an American Chef, TV personality and former model, co-hosted the Salute to Military Chefs at Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner, VA. This 26th annual event involves military chefs cooking a six-course dinner, paired with wine, designed to showcase the culinary talents of military chefs. The honorees at the event are personally selected each year by the president and vice president of the United States, the secretary of defense, and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. EVENTS [The NFL Brings the Fun to USO Ramstein and USO Kaiserslautern]( The NFL Brings the Fun to USO Ramstein and USO Kaiserslautern Last month, the NFL brought the gridiron magic to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, for a meet-and-greet event and a Salute to Service Tailgate. The tailgate brought live music, food and kid-friendly fun to our incredible service members and their families. At the meet-and-greet, Colts and Patriots players and cheerleaders took photos with fans and signed autographs. USO staff and volunteers made these exciting events happen with special thanks to the NFL’s Salute to Service program. Coca-Cola also had its annual USO Care Package event, where 200 employee volunteers stuffed 10,000 packages for service members in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Wawa also teamed up with the USO, with Wawa associates and Pennsylvania National Guard members assembling more than 10,000 USO Care Packages for service members stationed abroad.
