From the moment their military careers begin to their return to civilian life, through separation, wounds of service or the ultimate sacrifice, we aim to support those who serve and their families with dignity and respect. [Image of USO Warrior and Family Centers]( Injuries sustained in the line of duty often require long recovery processes. USO Warrior and Family Centers, which are strategically located close to hospitals where troops receive treatment, serve as a home away from home for service members and their families. These centers are there as service members recover from both visible and invisible wounds — providing a place where they can find healing activities like art and music classes and a supportive community. [Image of USO staff member and service member]( Each year, 200,000 service members transition into civilian communities. The USO Pathfinder® Transition Program offers services to help military spouses and troops prepare for life after their service. Since 2015, USO Transition Specialists have worked with more than 50,000 individuals to build an “Action Plan” tailored to their unique needs and goals. “My transition has been so incredibly easy,” says one recently retired Navy sailor. “The USO Pathfinder Transition Program® helped me with my resume, building my LinkedIn profile, [and] understanding the VA disability and loan process.” We hope you enjoyed learning more about the USO’s work to support our troops and their families through each and every step of their military journey in our Day One to Discharge series this month. This community’s support powers everything we do, and we are so grateful for your partnership. From day one to discharge, through thick and thin, in times of war and peace, every single thing the USO does to support America’s service members and their families is made possible by patriotic Americans like you.
