Sharing this message from our CEO with our top military supporters. [RUSH A DONATION]( As one of our top supporters, I wanted you to see the message below from our CEO, J.D. Crouch. Since Russia invaded Ukraine, we’ve been working around the clock to ensure that our brave service members have everything they need as they deploy at a moment’s notice. From phone calls home to hot meals, the USO is busy providing critical support to our service members and their families right now, but we rely on the generosity of supporters like you to fund these efforts. [Please, will you rush a donation right now to help us support our brave military during this crisis?*]( [RUSH EMERGENCY SUPPORT NOW]( Thank you for being there for our troops, Mary English Bell --------------------------------------------------------------- From: JD Crouch Sent: Thurs day, Febr uary 2 4, 2 022 6 :0 8 P M To: All WW Staff Subject: A Message from the CEO-Ukraine Importance: High Dear Colleagues, Over the last 24 hours we have seen unprovoked aggression on the part of Russia as it has invaded neighboring Ukraine, a free and democratic country. While U.S. forces are not directly engaged in this war, they are in Eastern Europe in support of our NATO Allies. And the USO is right there with them. Across multiple locations throughout Eastern Europe, our USO team of staff and volunteers have been working day and night to provide our military men and women with care, comfort and connection. They are strengthening their resolve, providing resiliency-boosting programs and standing by their side. We are actively engaged in helping military families at home, too, as service members left behind spouses, children and family members as they rapidly deployed to the European theater. Working around the clock, our incredible teams are making an impact by: - Providing Wi-Fi and call centers to keep service members connected to family, home and country. This is particularly important for the thousands of troops in Eastern Europe who otherwise have no access to cell phones or laptops. - Distributing USO Care Packages, which come in two varieties: Hygiene Kits with essential toiletries and Snack Packs with food that will remind them of home. These packages ensure service members feel supported and valued by their country. More than 20,000 have been sent so far. - Sending USO2GO and portable boxed programs to military units on the move. These packages include snacks, toiletries, games and sports equipment to keep troops entertained while giving them much-needed opportunities for relaxation. - Providing hot meals to deployed service members, as well as their families at home. - Meeting service members where they are by supporting ships that are deploying into the region through USO’s Program in a Box and use of the Mobile USO expeditionary vehicles at locations throughout Europe. - Giving service members a place to relax at physical USO locations throughout Europe, including a newly opened center in Poland and unstaffed centers in Eastern Europe. - Delivering thousands of blankets, beanies, and hand warmers to those operating in extremely cold environments. - Supporting military families on the home front with community-building activities, opportunities to communicate with deployed loved ones and other essential resources. I personally want to thank everyone in the organization and especially those in the European theater for their extraordinary efforts under very difficult circumstances. While we do not know what will happen next with this war, I am confident that the USO will continue to support those serving their country, no matter the mission. With deep gratitude. J.D.
